Kids Having Fun

Fun and Frolic!  Frolic and Fun! Come and join us, everyone!  The Ford City Renaissance Committee places a lot of emphasis on fun and frolic as you will see from the following events to be held in Ford City, for Ford City and nearby communities, and open for everyone to join in!

Festivals are fun

Festivals:  The Ford City Festival is similar to many festivals yet different… other festivals don’t have Steve Warcholak in charge of kids’ games and water games.  They don’t have Steve Heffner as DJ and they don’t have Dirk and Monica’s Talent Show.  They don’t have Barb Klukan or Virginia Kahat or Alyssa Young in the mix.  You’ll have to read the details to see the difference!   2012 Ford City Festival

Flashbacks:  “Motoring Memories” Car Cruise—a “Glass City” Flashback’

Boomers, proud of their wheels from the 40s, 50s.

Our most recent car cruise was held in downtown Ford City on May 19th, 2012 from 3-8PM. FCRCP provided an afternoon and evening of family fun and activities, door prizes, Chinese Auction, 50/50 Raffle, great local foods and crafts, and entertainment by Steve Heffner and additional local talent.

Wow, two drinks does that?

Friends (true friends) Don’t Allow Friends to Drive Drunk:  Also at the Car Cruise was the PA Safety-SIMulator, courtesy of Tom Elliott, State Farm Insurance.  This educational tool helps save lives every day. All high schools in Armstrong and nearby counties were alerted of its presence in Ford City, encouraging young people to take the time to experience the unit.  Students were asked to log their participation, and the school that had the greatest number of participants received a trophy courtesy of FCRCP.

Help us find the VERY BEST local entertainment by printing several copies of the downloadable poster, cut them out, and post them wherever you can. Or you can download it and send by email. Thanks!

Fundraisers:  Fundraising is a key component to healthy communities.  Whether you volunteer as a “dunkee” on the dunk tank at the Festival, help with registration at the Car Cruise, recruit friends and family as co-volunteers for a day, or send in a generous check as an event sponsor, we appreciate your help.
